Alder buckthorn (Rhamnus frangula) is a shrub that has been historically used for various medicinal purposes. Here it is used to create a natural hydroalcoholic extraction known as a tincture.

It forms a natural solution with the following potential benefits... Relief of constipation due to its natural laxative properties. These compounds can stimulate bowel movements as well as supporting overall digestive health issues.

Alder buckthorn contains compounds with potential antioxidant properties, which can help neutralise free radicals in the body. Historically alder buckthorn has also been used for various purposes including treating skin conditions, obesity, haemorrhoids, fever and arthritis.

Extracts such as tinctures offer a convenient alternative to herbal teas. Many are used in food, food supplements, cosmetics and as an ingredient by herbalists.  It is important to note that whilst many people find herbal remedies helpful, individual responses can vary.

Internal use: Take a teaspoon of alder buckthorn tincture up to 3 times per day after your main meal. After 3 days constipation should disappear. If it comes back repeat for a further 3 days.
