Description

Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is a herb that has been used traditionally for various medicinal purposes. The plant contains a variety of valuable active substances and compounds, including salicylates, flavonoids and tannins, which contribute to its potential health benefits. Meadowsweet may offer several advantages and here are some of the potential benefits associated with meadowsweet tincture:

Anti-Inflammatory Properties - Meadowsweet contains salicylates, which have anti-inflammatory properties. This makes meadowsweet potentially and exceptional solution for alleviating pain and reducing inflammation, particularly joint inflammation and rheumatism.

Pain Relief - Due to its anti-inflammatory properties, meadowsweet has been traditionally used to relieve pain, particularly in conditions such as rheumatism, arthritis and musculoskeletal disorders.

Digestive support - Meadowsweet has a long history of use for digestive issues. It is thought to help soothe and protect the digestive tract, making it useful for conditions such as indigestion, gastritis and heartburn. Its antacid properties may also help to neutralise excess stomach acid.

Extracts such as tinctures offer a convenient alternative to herbal teas. Many are used in food, food supplements, cosmetics and as an ingredient by herbalists.  It is important to note that whilst many people find herbal remedies helpful, individual responses can vary.

Internal use: Take a teaspoon of meadowsweet tincture up to 3 times per day before your main meal, plain or diluted in tea or water.
