Șomartin Chocolate was founded by Oana Crîngașu, who left over twenty years in banking to pursue her passion for cooking after moving to the Saxon village of Șomartin, nestled at the foot of the Făgăraș Mountains. Inspired by her grandparents recipes and the quiet beauty of the village, Oana began crafting homemade chocolate in the traditional way - transforming childhood memories into an artisanal craft rooted deeply in Transylvanian heritage.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Șomartin Chocolate create ciocolată de casă, Romania's beloved homemade chocolate with a soft, fudge-like textures that melts in your mouth. Each batch is made entirely by hand using simple, natural ingredients - real Romanian butter, cocoa powder, milk powder, nuts and fruits... Absolutely no artificial preservatives! The recipe remains unchanged from the treats made by Romanian grandmothers: nostalgic, comforting, and authentically delicious.

Soft, rich and creamy, Șomartin Chocolate's creations include homemade milk chocolate with walnuts, combining velvety cocoa with toasted nuts and homemade white chocolate with cranberries, where buttery sweetness meets tart fruit.
