Cămara Pogană
WHO ARE CĂMARA POGANA?
Cămara Pogană is the small, family business of the Pogan family. Proudly rooted in Romanian heritage, the Pogan name is traced to the Apuseni mountains, yet their home and the soul of their business is located on the famous, scenic route that crosses mountains and fairytale valleys, "Transalpina'. As a young and confident family, they have blended their love for sweet, natural flavours and their affection for their beautiful surroundings to create their dream: a pantry that preserves the finest fruits and flavours of their region.
WHAT DO THEY DO?
Cămara Pogană was inspired by childhood memories of foraging for wild mushrooms and forest fruits - bilberries, lingonberries, raspberries and fir cones from the beautiful valleys of the Transalpina region. Recognising the growing appreciation for truly traditional, handmade products, Cămara Pogană became committed to creating a space where people could rediscover real food.
THE PRODUCE...
The raw materials for their produce are sourced from the Cindrel mountains, an area where wild flora and fauna still coexist in unspoiled harmony. The fruits used in their syrups and jams are all selected, picked and prepared by hand, ensuring the highest quality in every jar. Their recipes are based on ancient principles, heard in the evening next to their grandmother stove and even the process of preparing their products is in the old, traditional style: a cauldron over a wood fire.
