WHO IS MARK TUDOSE?

Mark Tudose is a carver of traditional, wooden spoons & other wooden objects. Mark possesses a wealth of information about Romanian traditions and is eager to tell the stories and legends behind each motif on the wooden spoons. He hand carves the wooden spoons in his workshop in the medieval city of Sighisoara, Transylvania and this is where he owns an art gallery dedicated to displaying traditional Romanian art & craft.

WHAT DOES HE DO? 

He creates spoons with stories that speak fondly about the power and sincerity of manual work, done with passion, skill and care. It is a family tradition to work with wood and he takes great pride in his craft.

THE PRODUCTS...

In Europe there are two countries known for hand carving wooden spoons.. Romania & Wales. In fact Romania has the largest spoon museum in the world in Campulung Moldovenesc. 

The wooden spoons we have available are sold in sets of two, they have a geometric design inspired by the Romanian peasant. They are completely usable in the kitchen and are made from acacia wood.
