Description

A distinctive honey with a deep amber colour, produced by honeybees gathering nectar from the blossoms of the Japanese knotweed plant. This honey is smooth yet robust, with rich caramel notes and a slightly tangy finish that lingers on the palate. Its full bodied flavour makes it a perfect pairing with aged cheeses, hearty rye bread or stirred into strong black tea.

This Japanese knotweed honey comes from the Apuseni mountains and is a certified mountain product. It is produced by beekeeper Mihai Grama, who is one Romania's most renowned beekeepers. Known both for the exceptional quality of his honey and his dedication to promoting Romanian mountain products, Mihai tends to over 170 bee families in the Gilău area of Apuseni. He is also one of the founding members of the 'Mountain Product Association'.

100% natural, cold extracted honey, that is unpasteurised, untreated and unheated free from additives to preserve all natural enzymes, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients.

Please be aware that honey crystallises over time due to its high sugar content, this is nothing to worry about, in fact it's a sign of a natural, unprocessed product as only pure honey does this. If you wish to melt the crystals simply place in a bowl of warm water.
